January 22nd

Activity: 8th Anniversary Celebration and Planning for 2013 at the Veritas Restaurant in Sugar Land

17 divas were in attendance at this celebration of eight years together. Plans were put in place for the 2013 year. Games were played; prizes were awarded. Present were Divas Susie Adair, Sue Adam, Julie Beu, Shirley Beu, Pat Hayden, Connie Kaleta, Virginia Lemmon, Janet Moss, Dolores Patterson, Lisa Pepin, Eva Quearry, Arlene Rivenes, Evelyn Rosenbaum, Diane Schuler, Norma Smith, Barb Trotter and Ester Wleczyk.

February 26th

Hosts: Linda, Evelyn and Norma

Activity: Card Game '3-13' and Lunch at Rosenberg's Olive Garden Restaurant

17 divas were present to enjoy this fun day together, playing 'three to thirteen' and enjoying lunch and camaraderie. In attendance were Divas Susie Adair, Sue Adam, Julie Beu, Shirley Beu, Linda Dick, Pat Hayden, Connie Kaleta, Virginia Lemmon, Dolores Patterson, Lisa Pepin, Eva Quearry, Arlene Rivenes, Evelyn Rosenbaum, Diane Schuler, Norma Smith, Marcelle Smitley and Ester Wleczyk.

March 26th

Hosts: Shirley and Eva Q.

Activity: Presentation by a Forensic Artist and Lunch at Eva Q.'s Houston Home

14 divas were available to attend this interesting and entertaining forensic artist presentation at Eva Q's home. A delicious lunch of various salads was also enjoyed. Present were Divas Sue Adam, Julie Beu, Shirley Beu, Linda Dick, Pat Hayden, Connie Kaleta, Virginia Lemmon, Lisa Pepin, Eva Quearry, Evelyn Rosenbaum, Diane Schuler, Norma Smith, Barb Trotter and Ester Wleczyk.

April 23rd

Hosts: Julie and Bara T.

Activity: Scavenger Hunt and Lunch

15 divas participated in the search for items on the scavenger lists. Divas had fun looking high&low throughout the store for things listed. Small marble maze games were awarded as prizes. Linda Dick got a special prize for figuring out the 'Kennections' puzzle. Lisa Pepin won a gift card for finding a targeted sticker that was hidden. Yummy homestyle food and conversation were enjoyed amongst all the fun. In attendance were divas Susie Adair, Julie Beu, Shirley Beu, Linda Dick, Pat Hayden, Connie Kaleta, Virginia Lemmon, Lisa Pepin, Eva Quearry, Evelyn Rosenbaum, Diane Schuler, Norma Smith, Marcelle Smitley, Barbara Trotter and Ester Wleczyk. Diva Dolores Patterson joined the group for lunch only.

May 28th

Activity: Brookwood Tour and Lunch

10 divas carpooled to the Brookwood Community in Katy to enjoy lunch together there. Afterwards fun was had shopping together for plants amongst the beautiful displays presented. In attendance were Divas Susie Adair, Sue Adam, Shirley Beu, Linda Dick, Pat Hayden, Lisa Pepin, Eva Quearry, Diane Schuler, Barb Watson and Ester Wleczyk.

Activity: A sleepover at Eva's Galveston Condo

6 of the divas thoroughly enjoyed each other's company in Galveston, accepting Eva Q's invite for an overnighter there. And were we ever lucky! We shared & shared over the cocktail hour, at the famous Gaidos restaurant on the SeaWall, during jammie relaxing time, and while we enjoyed the leasurely/late breakfast at her spacious condo by the sea before heading back to the Houston Area. We came home renewed and thank Eva for sharing her beautiful slice of Galveston Bay with us. The lucky six were Divas Julie Beu, Connie Kaleta, Lisa Pepin, Eva Quearry, Arlene Rivenes, and Ester Wleczyk.

June 25th

Hosts: Diane and Virginia

Activity: Bunko at Diane's Richmond home. Lunch at the La Cocina Restaurant nearby.

18 divas were home to attend this fun party at Diane's home. We enjoyed what Diane called a 'light' breakfast before the bunko games started. Light? I don't think so! We've grown accustomed to Diane & Virginia's spread; delicious is the only word that says it all. Bunko was fun, as usual. Later we enjoyed each other further at the Mexican Restaurant the hostesses chose. What camaraderie! July 23rd

Hosts: Arlene & Lisa, Connie & Linda, Susie & Sue, Brenda & Ester and Evelyn. And all divas donating auction items. Activity: Bingo, Lunch and Silent Auction for the Cinderella/Cinderfella Project at Sugar Land's VERITAS Steak & Seafood Restaurant (formerly the Post Oak Grill). Outside guests are invited.

33 participants (divas plus guests) came out to take part in this fun event with a worthy cause. And fun was indeed had: six lucky bingo winners went home with sizeable cash prizes; the Veritas lunch was especially delicious; and a whopping $1726 was awarded to the CCP from generous bidders on the auction. Divas present were Susie Adair, Sue Adam, Julie Beu, Shirley Beu, Linda Dick, Eva Fackledey, Becky Gay, Connie Kaleta, Lisa Pepin, Eva Quearry, Arlene Rivenes, Norma Smith, Brenda Stevenson, Barbara Trotter, Barbara Watson and Ester Wleczyk.

August 29th, THURSDAY

Activity: Movie and Lunch at the Star Theater on Highway 6.

This activity was cancelled. The divas did not meet in August.

September 24th

Host: Diva Becky

Acivity: Tour of the Dew House Heritage Center. Light lunch will be enjoyed there.

16 divas gathered for this outing, where a bit of Texas culture and history were highlighted. The tour guide was especially interesting because of her personal excitement with local historical findings. Lunch was later enjoyed right there at the Dew House. It was catered by our friend Gabriella Vacca. Divas in attendance included Susie Adair, Sue Adam, Julie Beu, Shirley Beu, Linda Dick, Eva Fackeldey, Becky Gay, Sharon Gorman, Dolores Patterson, Lisa Pepin, Eva Quearry, Arlene Rivenes, Diane Schuler, Norma Smith, Brenda Stevenson and Ester Wleczyk. Eva Fackeldey's daughter Susie was our guest that day. October 22nd Hosts: Queen Arlene and 'new' Diva Brenda Activity: Pedicures, Manicures, Facials, or Massages at Bella Spatique in Sugarland. 10% discount if at least 10 divas participate. Lunch follows at the Saltgrass Restaurant nearby. 14 divas came out to have fun together on this date. We were pampered at the Bella Spatique salon, whether choosing a manicure, pedicure, massage, facial or waxing. And pampered we indeed were; what a treat! Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Salt Grass, where a 'trivia' game was played, treats were given out and door prizes were won. Activity: Enjoy lunch, sculptured 'tree' tour and camaraderie in Galveston. Have another sleepover at Eva Q's condo.

8 divas accepted Eva's invite for this extra event in Galveston during Halloween Week (Lisa Pepin, Sharon Gorman, Connie Kaleta, Arlene Rivenes, Brenda Stevenson, Evelyn Rosenbaum, Susie Adair and Eva Quearry). We rode around in an open van around the 'city by the bay', enjoying the guided tour of the historical highlights. We marveled at the unique tree sculptures that artists had created out of the many large oaks damaged by Katrina. Later we enjoyed each other's company over lunch at one of the city's popular eateries. We then strolled over to a local ice cream joint, famous for its specialties in everything sweet. Then 4 of us (Arlene, Lisa, Brenda & Eva)opted to stay overnight at the Quearry condo on the beach. What a treat that was! The many stories we shared kept us up past 11:30pm. The next day we power-walked for three miles before a late breakfast. Still more stories and many-a-laugh kept us on the coast until 3:30pm. THANK YOU, Eva!

November 18th

Activity: Lunch and Tour of the Fort Bend Herald

15 divas came out to take the tour of this 'homesy' Fort Bend newspaper headquarters located in Rosenberg. We were treated to a guided tour of the various components that go into such a LOCAL paper: soliciting; advertising, writing; editing; presentation layout; printing; and delivery. Divas in attendance included Julie Beu, Shirley Beu, Pat Hayden, Connie Kaleta, Virginia Lemmon, Dolores Patterson, Lisa Pepin, Eva Quearry, Arlene Rivenes, Evelyn Rosenbaum, Diane Schuler, Norma Smith, Marcelle Smitley, Barbara Trotter and Ester Wleczyk. We then traveled to La Casona Mexican Restaurant, where we had a tasty lunch, played a fun game, and thoroughly enjoyed being together.

December 16th

Activity: English Christmas at Janet's Home

16 divas celebrated the Holiday Season at Janet's lovely home. What a special gathering it turned out to be! The English Christmas dinner was elaborate, authentic, and so very delicious, like only our genuine Diva Brit could have prepared it. The games and prizes and camaraderie only added to this exquisite dining experience.
