Activity: Celebrating the Red Haute Divas 14th Anniversary at El Vaquero Restaurant

The Divas gathered at El Vaquero restaurant to kick off the new year.  Club business for the year was attended to, then the ladies enjoyed camaraderie over a delicious lunch.  Margaritas and yummy desserts were provided by Queens Connie and Arlene.  Those attendance were Susie Adair, Sue Adam, Julie Beu, Shirley Beu, Sue Cecil, Linda Dick, Becky Gay, Sharon Gorman, Pat Hayden, Sandy Livingston, Janet Moss, Dolores Patterson, Lisa Pepin, Arlene Rivenes, Charlotte Roberts, Evelyn Rosenbaum, Barbara Trotter and Ester Wleczyk.

February 26th

Hosts: Linda Dick and Sandy Livingston

Activity: Bunco and lunch at Quail Valley City Centre

 

The Divas got together to play bunco at Quail Valley City Centre. Hostesses Linda Dick and Sandy Livingston set up the fun day for us. We also had lunch with each other there and enjoyed great camaraderie once again. Little boxes of take-home chocolates were at each place setting. Cash prizes were given to the various winners of the bunco game. Those who didn’t winners got to choose from beautiful gifts provided by the hostesses. Thank you Linda and Sandy for  giving us a fun gathering in February! Those present included Susie Adair, Julie Beu, Shirley Beu, Linda Dick, Becky Gay, Connie Kaleta, Sandy Livingston, Janet Moss, Lisa Pepin, Arlene Rivenes, Evelyn Rosenbaum, Jan Snell, and Ester Wleczyk.

March 26th

Activity: Bingo and lunch at Rudy's Barbecue

 

What a fun gathering we had on Tuesday at Rudy’s BBQ Restaurant! Thanks go out to Divas Julie, Barbara and Shirley for putting on the special event. Bingo was lots of fun and we loved the prizes of wrapped note cards that we won. The other activity of guessing whose baby pictures belonged to whom was not easy, but indeed fascinating. Candy treats placed at each diva’s table spot were delicious, as was BBQ-ing at Rudy’s.  17 divas were in attendance: Julie Beu, Shirley Beu, Linda Dick, Becky Gay, Sharon Gorman, Pat Hayden, Connie Kaleta, Sandy Livingston, Janet Moss, Dolores Patterson, Lisa Pepin, Arlene Rivenes, Charlotte Roberts, Evelyn Rosenbaum, Jan Snell, Barbara Trotter and Ester Wleczyk.

April 23rd

Hosts:  Becky Gay and Janet Moss  

Activity: Derby Day celebration 

 

What a spectacular gathering from beginning to end! There were red roses everywhere around the house. There were mint juleps to drink; cucumber and cream cheese appetizers to eat; Kentucky Derby trivia game played (with Lisa the winner); video horse races played; a word scramble game with the names of past Derby winners (with Sandy the winner); etc. Prizes were awarded – bottle of wine with a horse&jockey topper, glass vase with a rose in it, chocolate roses, etc. Lunch was authentic derby Hot Brown sandwiches as well and very delicious. Prizes were also given to winners of the hat contest – Sue (most beautiful), Dolores (most original) and Connie (best for Derby Day). Those in attendance were Sue Adam, Julie Beu, Shirley Beu, Becky Gay, Connie Kaleta, Sandy Livingston, Janet Moss, Lisa Pepin, Dolores Patterson, and Evelyn Rosenbaum .  Two guests also attended.

May 28th

Activity: Shanghai and lunch at Carrabba's

​

The Divas gathered to learn a new card game and enjoy camaraderie with each other. We had oodles of fun playing Shanghi at Carrabba’s Restaurant in Sugar Land. It was delightful visiting with each other over a long, delicious lunch after the game. In attendance were Sue Adam, Julie Beu, Shirley Beu, Connie Kaleta, Dolores Patterson, Arlene Rivenes, Charlotte Roberts, Evelyn Rosenbaum and Jan Snell.

June 25th

Activity: LCR Game and lunch at Pablo's Mexican Kitchen

 

We had a fun diva outing at Pablo’s Mexican Kitchen in Richmond. As we visited with each other, we played two rounds of the Left-Right-Center game. Prizes were awarded the winners. All the divas present received take-home gifts from the hostesses. Lunch was delicious and the visiting with each other went on and on. What beautiful camaraderie to behold! Present were Divas Sue Adam, Julie Beu, Shirley Beu, Linda Dick, Sharon Gorman, Pat Hayden, Sandy Livingston, Lisa Pepin, Arlene Rivenes, Charlotte Roberts, Evelyn Rosenbaum, Jan Snell and Ester Wleczyk.

July 23rd

Activity:  Lunch at Coco's Crepes and Waffles Sugar Land

​

Nine of us divas were able to attend the gathering at Coco’s Crepes in Sugar Land, where Divas Dolores and Becky prepared a fun event for us. We discovered how much (or little) we really knew about each other. The activity was enlightening. The crepes were delicious. The take-home gift bags were appreciated.  In attendance were Shirley Beu, Becky Gay, Pat Hayden, Connie Kaleta, Sandy Livingston, Dolores Patterson, Lisa Pepin, Arlene Rivenes, and Charlotte Roberts.

August 27th

Hosts:  Susie Adair and Ester Wleczyk 

Activity: Bunco and lunch at Old Hickory Inn

 

The Divas played bunco, enjoyed conversation, and had a delicious barbecue lunch together.  The hostesses were very generous with bunco prizes and with take-home gifts. Those who were able to attend were happy that they were there. In attendance were Susie Adair, Julie Beu, Shirley Beu, Sue Cecil, Linda Dick, Becky Gay, Pat Hayden, Connie Kaleta, Sandy Livingston, Arlene Rivenes, Evelyn Rosenbaum, and Ester Wleczyk.  Dana Anderson (former Diva) was our guest for the party.

September 24th 

Hosts: Lisa Pepin and Arlene Rivenes

Activity:  How to make a ribbon bow and lunch at Cristobal Mexican Restaurant 

 

Thirteen Divas met in the party room at the Mexican restaurant in Greatwood- the Cristobal. There we learned from the creative Sally Bayard (our guest) how to make beautiful bows from wired ribbon. We then tested our own creative juices by decorating bales of hay with colorful wired ribbon and other decorative items. Each one of our hay bales were beautifully different, as you can imagine. Some were Christmas-themed, others were autumn-themed, etc. Following this activity, we enjoyed a delicious lunch and fun camaraderie in the restaurant. In attendance were Sue Adam, Julie Beu, Linda Dick, Becky Gay, Pat Hayden, Connie Kaleta, Sandy Livingston, Janet Moss, Lisa Pepin, Arlene Rivenes, Charlotte Roberts, Jan Snell, and Ester Wleczyk.

October 22nd

Hosts: Sue Adam and Evelyn Rosenbaum

Activity: Meet at Portillo Home & Garden in Rosenberg for "Succulent Pumpkins" and Lunch at Ol' Railroad Cafe

 

13 Divas met at the Portillo Home & Garden store in downtown Rosenberg. There we learned from proprietor Judy Tackett the special characteristics of succulent plants. She demonstrated for us how we could build attractive bouquets with them.  Being it was October, she built the bouquet in a large pumpkin. This pumpkin then became the door prize and guess who won it? Evelyn, one of the hostesses of the event - lucky her! After that we circulated around in that antique store and various other shops nearby to purchase lovely things that caught our fancy.

Later we headed for lunch at the Ol’ Railroad Cafe down the block. What a friendly Texan place that is! And the food and drinks? They were large portions and so delicious. While there, various word games were played and prizes were awarded to the smart ones amongst us. Those in attendance were the following: Sandy Livingston, Jan Snell, Becky Gay, Arlene Rivenes, Ester Wleczyk, Sue Adam, Linda Dick, Pat Hayden, Shirley Beu, Sharon Gorman, Evelyn Rosenbaum, Julie Beu, AND Barbara Trotter. It was so good to have Barbara back with us. Each of us received a take-home gift of a succulent bouquet in a small glass container.

November 4th (1st Monday)

Activity: Craft project at the clubhouse in Pat's neighborhood

 

Ester and Pat hosted another of their interesting craft opportunities for us last Monday. Although we all have varying levels of talent, we all were pleased with our efforts in the end and went home with lovely/unique pieces that we felt proud of. The delicious lunch which was ordered ahead and brought in from outside was enjoyed while we visited with each other. In attendance were Linda Dick, Becky Gay, Pat Hayden, Ester Wleczyk, Arlene Rivenes, Sue Adam, Lisa Pepin, Sandy Livingston, Sharon Gorman, Charlotte Roberts, Julie Beu and Shirley Beu. Pat read a letter that Diva Diane had written.

December 9th  (2nd Monday)

Activity: Christmas Party at Brookwood

 

Ten of us divas came out to be together, to feast our eyes on the beautiful items in the various shops, to buy things that we could not resist, and to enjoy the delicious lunch served. At lunch we were given several neat gifts by the hostesses to take home. We also played two paper quiz games and the smart ladies amongst us were rewarded. Those attending were Julie Beu, Becky Gay, Pat Hayden, Connie Kaleta, Sandy Livingston, Lisa Pepin, Arlene Rivenes, Jan Snell, Barbara Trotter, and Ester Wleczyk..
